Important Information

Veterinary Referral
Under the Veterinary Surgeons Act (1966), Veterinary Physiotherapy is carried under the supervision of the veterinary surgeon responsible for your pets care. This means each pet receiving physiotherapy from Wag Rehab must be referred appropriately to us. We are not able to assess or treat animals that have not been referred specifically to us.
Getting referred
Typically, your vet will contact Wag Rehab to enquire about the suitability of a physiotherapy assessment. We discuss your pets needs together and we ensure we have all the appropriate information before contacting you to organise an assessment session.
If you are interested in having a physiotherapy assessment with Wag Rehab for your dog/cat, you can discuss this with your vet and direct them to our website. If you would like to discuss the specific physiotherapy needs of your dog/cat, feel free to give us a call. We would be happy to answer your questions and support you in the referral process.
Initial assessment
Assessments are completed in your home. We will arrange a suitable day and time, making every effort to accommodate your requirements. During busy times, there may be a delay before your assessment can take place. Once we have contacted you to arrange an assessment, we would encourage you to schedule this as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary delay to treatment.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that sometimes things come up and it may be necessary for you to rearrange your appointment. In these instances we would ask that you give as much notice as possible. In cases where sessions are frequently cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, a 50% charge will be made
Insurance
We work with all major pet insurers to provide physiotherapy treatment. We do not currently provide treatment under a 'direct claim'. Costs for assessment and treatment must be made at the time of the session (or in part, beforehand when booking initial assessments). We can provide itemised receipts for sessions to allow you to claim with ease.
